Cape May–You would think we would remember not to travel on a Saturday, especially when the weather is warm and sunny. But when the weather is perfect, you need to make haste and go. Well we did go, and we did encounter the “crazies”. But it was all good and we didn’t run over anyone, thankfully. There is a canal from Delaware Bay into Cape May where we encountered lots of marine traffic. I was thankful to arrive at Utsch’s Marina without incident.

Fun Fact: We are not a fan of seafood and its everywhere.

Fun Fact: it costs $8/day to enjoy the beach.

Thursday is the GO day. The Atlantic had 2 foot swells, but otherwise it was kind to us. It was a long day of cruising along the coast of New Jersey (101 miles, 10.5 hrs) to arrive at Manasquan. We are at a fuel dock without electric. Guess we’ll rough it tonight. Tomorrow its 45 miles to our next marina, but we’ll be in the State of New York at Great Kills Harbor on Staten Island.

Our cruise from Manasquan to Staten Island, NY was great. The Atlantic was like glass, something we hadn’t experience to date. New York harbor is a big milestone in this loop journey, just like Norfolk was.
