Thanksgiving 2022

What a difference a car makes as a mode of transportation. We drove to Plumtree, North Carolina in about 7 hours and covered about 428 miles. We drove thru all the towns that we had visited by boat on our way to Knoxville. Our boat trip from Florence to Knoxville and back took us 16 travel days, by car it took 14 hours round trip.

We had a great time in Teen Valley Ranch ( http://tvr.org ) with Brianna over her Thanksgiving break. It seemed like a long break for her as she didn’t have to drive to Michigan. We had a roast for our dinner with many traditional side-dishes. As many of you know we own property near the camp which is used by the camp horses. One of the projects this week was to build a deck & stairs on the shed as well as begin to organize the pole-barn. We accomplished both things. Tim also did a lot of mowing in the fields to prepare it for winter. Sunday afternoon and evening Tim & Brianna played volleyball with a great group of people from the Spruce Pine area churches.

The TVR / Spruce Pine volleyball group, 3+ hours almost every week

We also visited the Mast General Store (a tourist place) and enjoyed some of the local cuisine. Tim & Bri rode horses on our property while I watched from a distance.

Now we are back in Florence, Alabama preparing to continue our loop journey. We spent a few days doing boat projects, provisioning the boat, laundry…. We plan to leave Sunday morning, Dec 3, with Safe Harbor Aqua Yacht Marina as our destination. Then we will continue our way south to Florida. Big thanks to Florence Harbor Marina for watching over our boat while we gone and having a car we could use while we were here.
