Chattanooga: Today was the day we would arrive in Chattanooga. When we woke up fog blanketed the river. After our last travel in the fog we decided to wait until the fog cleared. After about an hour, we headed up river. The Fall colors were so rich in color, but the pictures just don’t show how beautiful it was. As we entered Chattanooga it felt exciting. I’m not sure why except that going at 8 mph for 400+ miles, I may have felt we would never get here. Another reason could be that we had met some looper friends earlier and they were in this town (having finished their loop 3 weeks earlier).

Chattanooga: Classic Arcade Pinball Museum, Walnut Street Bridge, Chattanooga Market, Rock City Garden, Edwin Hotel, Mayan Restaurant, Public House Restaurant, International Towing Museum, Riverwalk, Anglican Church, Hot Chocolatier, Clumpies Ice Cream.
First day: arrived/docked on the river and dinner with Tate’s (looper friends) with special treat at the Hot Chocolatier

2nd day: Anglican Church with Tate’s, dinner at their house, visited Chattanooga Market. Rainy day, so we took naps then dinner at Mayan restaurant.
3rd day: overcast…long walk along the riverwalk downriver, Uber to Rock City Gardens (a must see). Dinner at Public house (tried grits again, still don’t like it)-rode the city bus back to our. boat.

4th day: Tim rode his bike to see the International Towing Museum off the Riverwalk. Spent 2 hours in the Pinball Museum playing any and all the pinball machines. Walked over the pedestrian bridge (looks like the blue bridge in GR, but bigger), ice cream at Clumpies (a local favorite). We are back on the boat getting ready to head upstream towards Knoxville tomorrow.

The Harbor Hosts, Bruce & Maggie Tate, are the best. We are honored to call them our friends. They have been very gracious to allow us to mail 4 pkgs to their home,
