Saturday (7/23) late morning we left Traverse City and headed for Suttons Bay. After the going away party Friday night we felt we needed to depart :). On the way into SB we met up with fellow NT owners Joe and Jenny. They took some great photos of our boat for us and we shared a meal and conversation after some swimming and paddling.

Sunday ( 7/24) we left early (7:13) hoping to make it to Frankfort with a bail out plan of Leland should the weather not cooperate. The plan fell apart when we came across an unoccupied aluminum boat floating in Grand Traverse Bay. We notified the Coast Guard and they asked us to wait on scene until they arrived. We where Just east of Northport and they sent a small boat from Charlevoix and helicopter from Traverse City, both arriving at the same time. With that excitement past we moved on as they continued the search, not knowing if someone fell off or if it just broke loose from a dock and drifted away. We arrived at Leland at 12:45 with waves building to 2-3 feet and a long way to go to Frankfort. A tour of the town and a nap filled the afternoon. Dinner on the river and a relaxing evening of reading filled the evening topped off by a spectacular sunset.
